I found this site on a search and just want to add my perspective. I lost my husband 9 months ago from a sudden coronary after 45 years of marriage. I just have turned 63 and have spent the last nine months frightened at my cognitive decline and loss of energy and resiliency. In the early months I wondered if I had had a stroke. My dr called it Widow's fog and said it will last between 1 to 2 years. I am coming back slowly. For example I can cook simple things now where a few months ago I was forgetting things in the microwave and stove and leaving burners on overnight. I do not think, however that I will ever get back to where I was before. I still am having a very hard time understanding what I read for example and have a level of anxiety that has changed me.
